Everything looks good. I have that CPU and it is incredible. I would however advise you to get a Gforce card. ATI/AMD cards are no good. I have been using them for about 8 years and i have been disapointed every damn time. This is the one I have. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150316 This is the one I want. Great to get some feedback on the processor, thanks! Might not be an i7 core, but for the price it can't be beaten. As far as ATI, that's funny because I've always had good experiences with ATI and rare, but more so than ATI, problems with nVidia. That and the GTS 260 is more comparable to the 5770 (I think), but is 30-40 dollars higher. If it weren't, I'd probably go for it. Granted in the end at my resolution, 1280x1024, the gts 250 should be more than fine.

That case is alright, but i love CoolerMaster cases. They make it very easy to remove and install hardware, especially optical drives and hard drives. Plus as their name implies they have very good air flow throughout. Also I went through 2 of those Gigabyte motherboards (Intel version) before I ended up getting a Asus P6T which works great. The first gigabyte board came DOA and the second one worked but had horrible driver issues and caused my system to randomly crash. After getting the Asus its been smooth sailing.

Yeah, I've always preferred Asus too, and for 10 dollars more it's not too bad before a 15 dollar rebate. Thanks for the suggestion! Not sure how I missed the board before. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131366
Double Lifetime Manufacture Warranty
Does that mean after you die and get reborn you can get a free video card? The hardware you chose seems pretty tight.

I don't know what you are basing this off of but as far as I can see, Nvidia is still on top. ATI might be cheaper but they run too damn hot. Every ATI card i have gotten had fried at about 1 year 1 month. They only come with a 1 year warrenty. After going through 5 cards i fiiiiinaly gave up. That is my opinion of ATI. I have only been using Nvidia for 2 years. SO far, I am seriously impressed. The only thing i think ATI had better was their driver customization (catalyst). Anywho. Your comp is gonna be kickin' dude. It is really comparable to my own. I have yet to play anything under max graphics.

Thats a good Asus board, but it already has an on board video card, don't know if that bothers you. And its only dual channel memory, try and find triple channel.

Unless there is a disadvantage to having onboard video other than a little price increase that I don't know about it should be fine. As for triple channel, it's a little out of my price range by being around 70 dollars more than my budget allows. If a there is a sale on those boards on President's Day I will definitely consider it. Is there any real benefit of triple channel versus dual channel?

Triple channel means you can put three RAM sticks in and they will work much faster together. With dual channel you can only do that with two sticks. Adding more will cause more delay. I bought 4 sticks for triple channel and it runs faster if only 3 are in, even though its a whole GB less.
