Well its been 4 years and my keyboard is now starting to go. I don't really know too much about good keyboards since my still using my first which I got as a free add on from my previous desktop. So budget is a max of 120, but I would like to spend under 100. Any suggestions?

Do you like mechanical, sir? If so, any preference on colour switches?

Never have a mechanical before, and I really don't care about the color switches, but if you find one that does, my pc case has blue LED lights around each fan case

Here you go sir,

The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate. I have the same keyboard just green LED instead.

Reliable, fast response, mechanical, sleek appearance, overall the best keyboard I have ever owned.

I agreed with Cpl's recommendation. I also have the new version which is green and it is incredible to use!

WO1, he's not talking about visual aesthetic. Check this post on the Overclock forums for a nice guide:

This is too simple to make a solid decision with, but gets you a general idea of what each switch is usually used for:

I have used the SteelSeries 6Gv2 Cherry Red version for almost a year:

I like the red keys because of the super easy force required, but you have to get used to a few keys being a different placement or size, like the "\" key, and the right shift is shorter. I chose a linear switch because in FPSs I press the keys quickly and all the way down, so I don't need to know when it actuates, and the minimal force required by the Reds go well with that. The best thing for you to do is go to some stores and try keyboards with different kinds of switches. I have found that mechanical keyboards often come in packaging that has a window to try the keys without opening the box.

I personally don't recommend Razor products. I have spent a lot of money on their expensive stuff and had nothing but problems. I won't buy their stuff anymore after having a $150 mouse that didn't even work correctly, and having a headset with a cheaply made mic that failed. I have the Logitech G710+ and love it so far. I highly recommend a mechanical keyboard.

After reading this thread I've got myself the Corsair Vengeance K95 with Cherry MX red switches. (basically a K70 with additional recordable macro keys)

I like it so far. It looks great and it's awesome to type on these keys. It's definitely worth the money and so is the K70 I assume!

I completely agree with this here. Have used many gaming keyboards over the years, and i cant even compare them to the black widow. By far the best keyboard I have ever used
